Our Story

Being passionate about fragrances and always on the lookout for candles that truly impressed me, I decided to create high-quality candles that delight both when lit and unlit.

I've always loved the warmth of reading a good book by candlelight. There's something magical about a flickering flame.

At a time when I was working a lot and had little time for hobbies that truly brought me joy, I realised I was missing something just for me, a small hobby that belonged entirely to me. Weekends and holidays were full of fun and travel with my husband Kaique, but the day-to-day felt like it needed a little personal escape.

I tried a few things, but nothing quite clicked, until one day a short TikTok video appeared on my feed: someone making candles. I was instantly captivated.

I already loved candles, and the process enchanted me. I'll admit I thought it would be easy, until I reached the blending phase. Recipe after recipe, test after test, I finally landed on my ideal coconut and soy wax blend. And then came the wicks, model after model, so much material and time spent, until I found the perfect one.

I first made candles for my own home, and my husband, impressed by their quality and how strong the scent was even from another room, kept telling me I should sell them, that people would love them. That's how Candles by Maya was born; to brighten and scent your special moments.
